When is the last time you felt excited about not knowing what was going to happen next?
What are the precautions you take every day to circumvent “negative” circumstances”?
Are you willing to allow some discomfort in order to push past your “comfort zone” and into your destiny?
Fear of the unknown….
As I asked earlier: “When is the last time you felt excited about not knowing what was going to happen next?”
If you’re deep in your comfort zone, it’s probably been a while. The excitement has become a numbing sense of doubt and fear, paralyzing you to the possibilities of life.
Don’t you miss the mixture of anticipation and anxiety that makes your heart flutter and stomach turn at the same time? Bring that feeling back into your life.
A lost sense of adventure….
Adventure is full of things like eagerness, ambition, anxiousness and enthusiasm.
When we stay in and live from our comfort zone, we preclude each of these active, participatory words.
When we lose our sense of adventure, we have run out of the gas that drives the fun in life. We become dry, brittle and lack imagination.
What can go wrong if you feel the excitement of this beautiful life once again?
Deciding risk is always a bad thing….
Listen, I’m not talking about living on the edge 24/7. You do not have to be an all out daredevil to take risks that move you out of your comfort zone and into a life filled with expectancy.
Here’s a tip: When you decide to do something, do it for its own sake, not to get a particular result. This method of not attaching yourself to the result, allows you to take risk without a huge emotional investment. It is that emotional investment and attachment to it that makes us scared of taking risks.
Going out on a limb can be scary because you might fail. You might lose something.
You might also gain something. Exciting huh?
Worry about what other might think….
This is the big one. When I work with individuals and groups, fear of what other people might think is almost always at the top of the move out of the comfort zone” list.
Folks, hear me say this: Do not let anyone take up space in your brain if they are not paying rent!
There is no opinion more vital to you than the opinion of yourself. All the rest of chatter from supposed friends and uninvolved family, is just that – chatter.
Stop the worry – start the living.
It is time my friends – it is time to embrace the unknown, get back a sense of adventure, take some risks and stop worrying about what other people think.
It is time to move out of your comfort zone and into the life you were destined to live – one filled with power, excitement, anticipation and expectation.
I’m rooting for you!
Are you stuck? What can you do to get unstuck? What has worked for you?
I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!
